Under the LFO the total number required for bringing National Assembly into session was 100 only, he said.

He emphasied the need for a political solution of the present national crisis and said the Pakistan Army had done a heroic deed in curbing the anti-national elements.

Mian Mahmud Ali Kasuri further said East Pakistan should be given maximum autonomy within the bounds of the national Assembly should be called into session to hold discussions to elect popular opinion on the subject.

The Government, he said, should send patriotic East Pakistani elected representatives of the people abroad to present Pakistan's point of view rather that chosing defeated people like Mr. Mahmood Ali and Mr. Hamidul Haq Chaudhury for the purpose.

He said entursting responsibility to those whom it belonged would also improve Pakistan's position in the comity of nations.

The Government could more effectively tell its people or their representatives difficulties arising out of the recent signing of military pact between India and Russia.

He also called for the removal of press censorship and restrictions on the political activities in the country.

He further said that he was pleased to see that our army is fully prepared and vigilant for any unprovoked Indian attack on East Pakistan borders.

He is gratified to see that the people are very anxious to come forward to fight against Indian design and save the ideology and integrity of Pakistan.

Muslims of East Pakistan have now fully realised that the miscreants and Indian agents are to ruin our economy and make us slaves as before.

PML leaders condemn India

Eighteen prominent leaders of Pakistan Muslim League (Qayyum group) have vehemently condemned India for her negative designs against Pakistan and said "since the very birth, India has invented many plans to undo Pakistan including Military aggressing of 1965," reports APP.

In a joint statement here yesterday they said, "She again launched her vicious attack to undo Pakistan but this time she has changed her strategy. With the help of her agents, she hoped to have a decisive result but the correct leadership of our president Agha Mohammad Yahya Khan and the courage and valour of our gallant solders allied with the firm determination of the nation, India has again been slapped on her face."

"We fail to understand as to how a Government can be so unscrupulous in her dealings with the neighbouring country. Is there any Government in the world to make business on the sufferings of millions of people to achieve commercial gain? Is there any civilised government, who can work out their entire radio programme against a country which has done no wrong to them. The cancer germ is in her blood.

'Support to Mujib Flowed from New Delhi, Calcutta'

Nairobi, Aug 24, (APP): The Editor of the East African Standard who visited Pakistan to give his readers an independent and impartial account has said; "Support to Mujib flowed from New Delhi and Calcutta with Indian hopes reposing in his separatist ideas which being applied in reality, would have dismembered, Pakistan."

In a preface to an article published on August 18, "Inside Pakistan," he said, "in no sense was his investigation doctored."

He said he was free to go anywhere and talk to anybody he wished. Facilities were freely given by the Government and Military authorities but at no time did any Government official "sit in" on interviews.

The article said India was immemorially antagonistic to the Islamic influence, bitterly opposed Pakistan's birth, nurtured the failure in 1965 war and craved for a reunited Bengal.

Support for Mujib flowed from New Delhi and Calcutta, with Indian hopes reposing in his separatist ideas which being applied in reality, would have dismembered Pakistan.

He said University, among other buildings, which All India Radio reported destroyed is still intact and from personal investigation is functioning placidly.

"At a critical stage, president Yahya went to Dacca for a series of meeting with Mujib which were to prove fruitless. Mr. Bhutto, who Ahad telephoned Mujib to congratulate him on his victory, only to have his call refused, also flew to Dacca all to no avail.

Negotiations continued with president, but reliable sources say Mujib was under immense pressure from the extremists, who counterated to every sign of compromise.

Concluding the article said; "Pakistan wants them (Displaced persons) back and has prepared for their rehabilitation and resettlement in accordance with the UN Mission. Routes intended for returning refugees are often mortared and they are forced to make detours.

"Out flow of news from East Pakistan about terror, declaration of Bangla Desh and so on was channelled through press trust of India and Indian Radio stations, Rawalpindi reports were eclipsed: There was nobody in Dacca to report.

"India gained a long lead from Pakistan in those early weeks and effects of Proganda linger to this day. Find anybody in outside world who did not believe the refugees fled from Pakistan Army. Unquestionably many did, but vast majority fled from rebel Bengali terror. No authenticated case of deliberate murder of any atrocity committed by regular forces could be found.

On the contrary, residents looked on the Army as saviour.

"Under late Mr. Nehru, India was the prime mover establishing the doctrine of positive non alignment. with president Tito and late president Nasser, he called together "their world" of non-aligned nations. After Indo-Soviet pact it can never pretend to be non-aligned."
