Bloody clashes took place in Sona-
Both sides freely used their automatic weapons and hand grenades resulting in heavy casualties.
This was disclosed by two Hindu employees of Narayanganj Jute Mills who returned to Dacca yesterday "out of fear of communal riots" in the refugee camp following the incident. This, they said, was one of many such incidents.
The Hindu returnees also disclosed that families and relations of some of the rebels were also living in the same refugee camp where the Indian troops tried to lift young Muslim girls.
Following the clashes the Indian authorities clamped dusk to dawn curfew in the area and ordered the night patrols to shoot at sight anybody violating the curfew, the returnees said.
The returnees also revealed that young Muslim girls were separated from their parents and kept at Indian border outposts at night.
Islamabad, Aug. 26 (PPI): An official spokesman said here today that it was "most
unfortunate" that India was persisting in her intransigence and had turned down another
positive proposal made by Pakistan which could have contributed towards reduction
of tension in the sub-
The spokesman was commenting on India's reported refusal to accept the proposal for the establishment of a good offices committee consisting of members of the United Nations securing council for purposes of reducing tension between India and Pakistan.
The spokesman further said that Indian refusal to accept this proposal was yet another proof of India's policy of continuing confrontation with Pakistan.
It may be recalled that Pakistan had proposed the establishment of a good offices committee consisting of members of the security council to visit Pakistan and India, specially the areas of present tension to defuse the threatening situation.
The proposal was made in a letter handed over by Pakistan's permanent representative at the United Nations Mr. Agha Shahi, to this month's president of the security council Ambassador Vincic of Haley on August 11.
It may also be pointed out that India has so far rejected all proposals made by Pakistan to reduce the tension between the two countries. India also rejected posting of United Nations observers for the repatriation of displaced persons.
Tangail, Aug. 26 (APP): Two Indian agents equipped with hand grandes and mine were captured recently by police near the village Nagar Alpai, three miles from Tangail.
They were stealthily moving towards, Tangail town. One of the culprits was shot at while escaping and subsequently died at the Tangail Hospital and the other was kept in custody.
Police officials have been given worthy reward for their act of bravery.
Islamabad, Aug. 26 (PPI): Official sources today denied Indian press reports that amongst those repatriated from Indian Deputy High commission in Dacca were some East Pakistanis.
These sources said this report was incorrect and a deliberate attempt by India to distort fact. They said the correct position is that in the Indian mission in Dacca there were holding Indian emergency certificates. Since they were no longer Pakistani nationals and their names were included in this list of Indian personnel they were allowed to leave Dacca.
It is regretted that even in this humanitarian matter the Indians have tried to malign Pakistan, the sources noted.

Officers urged to intensity uplift activates
Comilla, Aug. 26: The commissioner, Chittagong Division met the local heads of all departments at Comilla collectorate yesterday and reviewed the progress of various on going development schemes and repair and reconstruction of roads and bridges.
