Bhutto, Military Chiefs in Peking Consultations with Chinese leaders.

Peking, Nov.5 (APP) : Pakistani political leader Zulfikar, Ali Bhutto arrived here today as the personal representative of president Yahya Khan lot- talks with the chinese Government. The informed sources here said he would deal mainly with the tension between India and Pakistan.

Mr. Bhutto, a fromer foreign Minister, who is heading a large delegation of political and military leaders was welcomed at the airport by Acting) Foreign Minister Chipengfee Mr. Bhutto's "surprise" visit is expected to last untill Monday, informed sources said, noting that his talks with Chinese leadrs would be the most important since President Yahya was here exactly one year ago.

Chinese caution on the Indo-Pakistani crisis was summed up by the slogans brandished by the 2,000 strong crowd at the airport which hailed "the unity between the Afro-Asian People", and expressed "support for the Pakistani people in then - struggle to protect their independence from abroad."

The First was seen here as demonstrating China's wish to avoid a new conflicts in Asia, and the second as recalling the special lies between China and Pakistan.

Arms from China, Rumania for Pakistan Washington, Nov. 5 (APP) :

Pakistan is about to receive arms Shipments from people's China and Rumania. Defence Department sources disclosed here yesterday as Indian Premier Mrs. Indira Gandhi began talks with President Nixon. American intelligence reports the sources said a Pakistani cargo vessel was on its way to China to take consignment of artillery pieces trucks and ammunition for the tanks used by the Pakistani Army.

Another vessel was on its way to Rumania to pick up consignments of light weapons, they added. Observers here suggested the disclosure was aimed <11 convincing India that it was not American support which was behind Pakistan rather other countries were willing to fill the gap it Washington (,eased arms supplies to Karachi.

Deeper Understanding.

Another report adds : Indian Premier Mrs. Indira Gandhi yesterday said the hoped her visit to the UN would create a deeper understanding of the impact of events in Pakistan and India."

Mrs. Gandhi was speaking shortly after she arrived at the White f-louse for talks with President Nixon. expected to cover American aid to the Pakistan Government.

Razakars kill five Indian agents.

Razakars yesterday carried out a successful raids on the hide-outs of' Indian agents in Barisal and Dinajpur districts killing five of them. reports APP.

Niazi visits triumphant troops.

Lt. Gen. A. A. K. Niazi, commander Eastern Command and Martial Law Administrator Zone `B' spent the whole of yesterday with triumphant troops defying concerted efforts of Indian soldiers and their agents to capture Pakistan territory along; the eastern border, reports APP.

He was accompanied by the GOC.

Big five urged to support Thant's initiative

Islamabad, Nov. 5(APP) : Pakistan is not making any immediate move to have the matter of Indian threat raised in the Security Council but is keeping this option open. This was stated today by a spokesman of Pakistan Foreign Office. The spokesman appealed to the Five Big Powers to follow up and support the initiative taken by the Secretary General of United Nations U Thant to defuse the explosive situation in the sub-continent.

If(, said it was for the Big Powers friendly to both Pakistan and India to back up and strengthen the move of the Secretary general both inside and outside the Security Council I have reasons to believe that some have been using such influence as they have in the sub-continent to good purpose in order to avert a catastrophe. The Big Powers can play a constructive role in sirengthening the initiative of' the Secretary General by taking an objective assesment of the viewpoints of the two countries involved.

Armed forces ready to meet Indian Challenge, says MDM. Hasan.

Karachi. Nov. 5(APP) : Vice Admiral S. Muzaffar Hasan. Connmander-in-Chief. Pakistan Navy, said here today that the armed forces were fully prepared to effectively meet the Challenge posed by India, and defend the homeland.

Speaking at the keel-laying Ceremony of M. V. Samna at the Karachi Shipyard he said, "We are not looking for war. We are a peace loving nation but it war is thrust on us we are fully prepared to defend our country."

Razakars fight with band of Indian agents

Perojpur Nov. 5(APP) : The Razakars of Nazipur police Station of the subdivision assisted by Thana Police valiantly fought with a band of' Indian agents at Satkachima.

Four Indian agents were killed in the encounter and one of them was arrested along with one stengun one rifle and two other automatic weapons of Indian make.

The arrested Indian agent Lutfur Rahman said that they were trained in India and also were supplied with armes and ammunition by the Indian Army.

6 political parties agree to co-operate in NA-Qayyum.

Peshawar, Nov. 5 (PPI) : Khan Abdul Qayyum Khan, Presidcnt of Pakistan Muslim League said here Wednesday six political parties of the country PML. CML, PML (convention), Jamaat-e-Islami, PDP and Nizam-e-Islam had agreed to cooperate fully in the National Assembly also Taking to PPI, the Khan who held two sessions of- parday's with Mian Daulatamna of- CML yesterday said the three Muslim Leagues were already united while three other parties had also unsured complete supports to the alliance.

USSR supports unity & integrity of Pakistan.

Islamabad, Nov. 5 (APP) : The Soviet Union has assured Pakistan of its interest in Peace in the sub-continent and of her support for the Unity and Intel) -it o Pakistan and the desire to develop good relations with Pakistan

This assurance has come as a result of the clarifiction sought by Pakistan Foreign Office of the joint statement issued in New Delhi after a recent visit there by Soviet Deputy Foreign Minister Nikolai Firubin.

A Spokesman of the Foreign office said this assurance by the Soviet Union was welcome and was fully reciprocated by Pakistan. However, in the he background ol India's open and belligerent interference in Fast Pakistan and the obstractions she was putting in the matter of return of displaced persons Pakistan was bound to view with concern the political support and continued supplies of- anus by the USSR to India.

5 more elected to East Pakistan Assembly.

Five more candidates were provisionally declared elected unopposed to the East Pakistan Assembly in the two-phase by-elections, bringing the total number of elected candidates to 86, out of 193 vacant seats, reports APP.

Of the five elected candidates, two were Mr. Abdus Sobhan of PDP (PE-52 Raj-II) and Mr. N.A.M. Faroque of Qayyum league (Pe-53 Rajshahi-12) both under the first phase while Dr. A. N. Sharfuddin of Convention league (Pe-109 Patuakhali- V). Mr. Mohammad Lutfur Rahman of Qayyum league (PE-1 10 Ptuakhali-6) and Mr. Arfan Ali of PDP (PE-247 Comilla -7) all are under the second phase.
