Daultana due in the city today

(PPI)

Karachi, March 18 (PPI): Mian Daultana has said that we are prepared to play a fruitful role as an opposition party both at the centre and provinces.

But he pointed out in an interview with PPI on his arrival here today from Lahore that one should not think in terms of power, government or opposition in the present situation. We should think of concord cooperation, and comradeship so that the crisis is resolved.

Mian Sahib said the initiative of forming an interim government at this stage should be of the majority party; but he added, one hopes that if an intrim government is formed it will also be fully representative of the parties of West Pakistan.

Mian Mumtaz Daultana who is leaving for Dacca tomorrow morning said he would meet the Awami League chief, Sheikh Mujib and discuss with him the present political situation. When asked whether he would meet president Yahya in Dacca the CML chief said, "Yes I will also call on the president." CML he remarked, would try to remove any misunderstanding that might be in the mind of the Awami League chief. He said there was no cause for any apprehensions about the feelings of friendship, cordiality and determination of the people of the two wings to live together.

In reply to a question, Mr. Daultana said as far as Sheikh Mujib's four points were concerned his party's stand in principle was that they should be accepted and we hope that considerable progress along these lines will be made during the talks between president Yahya and the Awami League chief.
