Attention of the Government has been drawn to apprehension expressed in some quarters that Government is unable to maintain supply of foodgrains against ration cards as stock with it has fallen low, states a Govt. press note.
Government wants to make it clear to all concerned that stock of foodgrains with the Govt. is quite adequate to meet the full requirements of rationing and that rationees will continue to get their supply against their ration cards.

The businessmen engaged in export trade have also activised themselves for the resumption of their export with the announcement of the shipping facility by the Government.
A jute exporter when interviewed said that they were now to strain their nerves to boost trade for earning more foreign exchange. The export trade, he said, had suffered during the recent past due to the subtle scheme of India o cripple the economy of East Pakistan with an avowed view to have a monopoly in jute trade throughout the world.
But he said the exporters now were determined to work with dynamic spirit and zeal to salvage the economy of the province.
The supply of perishable goods including vegetables, eggs and fowls is in abundance in city markets and are selling at much cheaper price as compared to the trates prevailing during corresponding period last year.
The prices of other essential commodities are reasonable and normal as prevailing during this time last year.
The price of edible oil and kerosene would mark a downward trend with further improvement in supply position.
A wholesale dealer of cloth said that there was enough stock of cloth in the market and there was no cause forany concern. The dealer said that with the replenishment of stock position, the price of a few varieties of cloth which had recorded a rise would also come down.
