Indian forces continue violating Pak borders

Rawalpindi

India again violated Pakistan's borders when Indian soldiers trespassed into Sylhet district on June 19.

A Pakistan patrol party, while on a normal patrolling mission, encountered the Indian soldiers in green uniform in Lathitilla area. Simultaneously, the Pakistani patrol party was subjected to intense mortar fire from across the border in support of the Indian soldiers.

The same day, an Indian Border Security Force Patrol intruded into Pakistan territory in Manikpur Area in Jessore district and opened fire. When our troops returned the fire, the Indians withdraw hurriedly across the border.

The reports said this is not first case in which the Indians have killed East Pakistanis refusing to under take sabotage inside Pakistan territory at their behest. It appears that the Indians, as a matter of policy, are shooting down East Pakistani displaced in India whenever they refuse to be launched in East Pakistan for sabotage activities.

Five Sentenced to death in Shyampur rioting case

The Special Military Court No 3, Dacca has sentenced five persons to death and 17 persons to various terms of rigorous imprisonment ranging from two to 14 years in Shyampur rioting case (Dacca) involving murder of Additional superintendent of police (city) last year, reports APP.

While death sentence of one Abul Matin, Son of Aminuddin was confirmed, the death sentence of the four namely Sohrab, Abdul Barek, Siddique and Nurul Islam was committed to transportation for life lay the chief Martial Law Administration.

Four accused persons namely Safar Ali, Abdul Mannan, Ayub Ali and Altaf Hossain were acquitted.

Three persons sentenced to rigorous imprisonment for 14 years each are Faridul haque, Rustam Ali and Altaf Hossain.

Nur Islam, Malek Sarif, Abdul Latif and Nurunnabi have been sentenced to rigorous imprisonment for five years each.

Those who are awarded rigorous imprisonment for two years each are Siddiqullah Chowdhury Sera, Abul Kalarn, Aynal Nur Mia.

They were tried under MLR 12/ 16 (A) 148 and 302 PPC.

Mahmud Ali against piecemeal power transfer

Mr. Mahmud Ali, Vice-President of Pakistan Democratic party has said that India is violating the basic principles of respect for other country's independence with impunity. In an interview with PPI yesterday, he said, that the present situation should therefore, stir world opinion. He emphasised that if the world community "Paid no need to it, it will involve countries in conflagration of war and tension. He hoped that the world opinion would be moulded to make India see the path of reason.

Normalcy prevails in Rajshahi

The Rajshahi District co-ordinator committee at a meeting held here recently noted with satisfaction that normalcy had returned in every sphere of life. The meeting attended by all district level officers besides sub-divisional officers and circle officers was presided over by the Deputy Commissioner.

Break up of Pakistan in India's interest

Eminent Indian intellectual subremain Swamy has urged India to go to war with Pakistan because the break-up of Pakistan was the India's interest.

Swamy who has been advocating that India should go unclear to emerge as a super power said in an article that the dismemberment of Pakistan was 'not only in Indian's external sequiry interest but also help India emerge as a supper power internationally and we have to nationally integrate our citizens for this role, For this the dismemberment of Pakistan is an essential precondition," he added.

Swamy in his article published by the Indian daily Motherland last Tuesday said the territorial integrity of Pakistan was none of Indian's business. All it should concern itself with was whether the break up of Pakistan was in its national interest and if so how could it go ahead with it."

Swamy suggested that India should recognise "Bangla Desh" as recognition by itself would lead India to a war with Pakistan. War, he said might be an desirable event but India should not lose its initiative and recognise "Bangla Desh" forthwith regardless of the fact that it controls no territory at all.

Wali NAP, NIP against of early transfer of power

Peshwar (PPI)

Major-General (Rtd.) M.G. Jilani, MPA-elected of the National Awami Party (Wali group) said here today that his party was opposed to transfer of power in parts and wanted that the people's representatives should be handed over the government simultaneously in the five provinces of the country.

In a statement issued here he said power should also be transferred simultaneously at the centre and the provinces.

Maulana Thanvi, Ehteshamul Huq Thanvi, Chief of Pakistan Nizam-e-e Islam party said here yesterday that the president should select experts from the members of public irrespective of their political alliance as his advisers.

Taking to PPI yesterday morning, the Maulana said that these advisers should continue running the Government in the best interest of the country till complete normalcy was returned. The Nizam-e-Islam Party leader who is now on a tour of East Pakistan categorically opposed the transfer of power immediately. He said that the leaders who at this grave hour were raising slogans for the transfer of power for restoration of democracy, could not asses the correct position prevailing in this part of the country. They were trying to make ineffective the graud success so far achieved by our brave and gallant Armed Forces, he alleged.

The Maulana was confident that the vast majority of Pakistanis were in favour of Islam and the integrity of Pakistan. He said that the only aim of so-called Bangla Desh patronised by India was to undo the spirit of Muslim nationhood in Pakistan.

Suleman urges workers to join immediately

Mr. S. M. Suleman, vice-president of Pakistan Federation of Labour, has called upon the workers to join their duty in their respective mills and under taking immediately, reports APP.

In a press release he said that on receipt of complaints from various trade unions, the Federation and other trade union leaders appraised the labour and industries Department of the present difficulties and miseries of the workers. The Government very sympathetically considered our suggestions and has instructed the employers of all industries in the province to allow the workers who had been dismissed for unauthorised long absence or charg shuted or those who could not resume their duty for unavoidable circumstances to join by June 30, he added.

He reminded the workers that the Martial Law authorities had already issued press release in respect of the matter clearly.

Bhutto calls for revolutionary changes

Mr. Z. A. Bhutto, Chairman of the PPP has called for revolutionary changes in the economic structure.

Poverty and sickness could only be rooted out in the country through revolution, he said while addressing the workers of the Quetta cantonment branch of his party here last evening in Chiltan Market.

He appreciated the sincerity zeal and hard labour with which workers of his party had worked in this area during the last elections and asked them not to be disheartened.

He told them not be under the presumption that he had forgotten them merely because of the fact that no party candidate was returned in the last elections from this area.

He was of the view that fortunes of the nation could not be changed through elections although cretins problem could be solved by elections.

Qayyum urges constitution ensuring strong centre

Lahore (APP)

The president of the Pakistan Muslim League (Qayyum) Khan Abdul Qayyum Khan, yesterday made a three point demand namely the president should give a constitution guranteeing strong centre and banning of all such political parties and groups as supported Sheikh Mujibur Rahman's six points or other wise had secessionist tendencies.

He was addressing a largely attended meeting of his party workers here last evening.

Indians angry with Sadruddin

New Delhi (Reuter)

Prince Sadruddin Aga Khan, United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees come under heavy attack yesterday in the Indian parliament and press for his alleged pro­Pakistan attitude concerning the East Pakistan refugee crisis.

Mr. R. K. Khadilkar, Labour and rehabilitation Minister who is overall control of the refugee relief operation, said the High commisioner had created "an unfortunate impression that he was not aboce bias".
