Strong protest lodged : Deliberate Indian armed aggression

The Government of East Pakistan is understood to have lodged four strong protest notes three with the Government of West Bengal and the other with the Government of Assam against deliberate armed aggression against Pakistan territory in flagrant violation of the ground rules, reports APP.

The Government of East Pakistan has also requested immediate enquery into the incidents and strignent measures against the persons at fault with a view to putting an end to such incidents. Reports reaching here show that Indian troops have kept on firing upon Pakistan territory at various places in Khulna district.

On June 19 from 0200 to 0245 hours Indian troops shelled up on Pakistan BOP at Mandra with artillery and three-inch mortar.

On June 22 from 1830 to 1900 hours Indian troops fired 100 rounds with three-inch mortar upon Pakistan territory at Baikari, same day against from 1830 to 1900 hours they fired up on Pakistan territory at Bhumra with small arms and machine guns.

On June 21 Indian troops resorted to intermittent firing upon Pakistan territory at Benapole in the district of Jessore. They fired 40 rounds with three-inch mortar and 4 rounds with field gun at about 1 130 hours and again after a short interval fired 30 rounds with three-inch mortar and 40 rounds with field gun.

On June 23, at about 1015 hours Indian troops fired 10 rounds with troops fired 10 rounds with three-inch mortar upon Pakistan territory at Kushtia district.

On June 19 at 0630 hours about 50 Indian soldiers shelled upon Pakistan territory at Lathitilla in Sylhet district and attacked Pakistan BOP at Lathitilla.

Qayyum Khan calls on Yahya

Rawalpindi, (APP)

Khan Abdul Qayyum Khan, President of Pakistan Muslim League (Qayyum Group) called on president yahya Khan at the President's House here today and remained with him for some times.

Hamid visits northern border

General Abdul Hamid Khan, Chief of Staff Army, got a board brush picture of troop deployement along the northern border when he visited Natore, Bogra and Saidpur yesterday, reports APP.

The troops were deployed in defensive posture against the constant threat of infiltration attack.

General Hamid spend his day yesterday with troops and joined them in an excellent from commander Eastern Command and the GOC accompanied the Chief of Staff. Briefing the Chief of Staff, the local commander said that the region had been perged all remnants of mischief mongers and anti-state elements. The commander also said that after combing the area, troops had been deployed in defence along the border in view of the threat emanting from concentration of Indian troop. The Indian troops, he added at times, resorted, to artillery and mortar firing without any provocation.                                      .

Kustia MNA Stabbbed in Calcutta

Mr. Aziz Abbas, MNA-elected from Kustia and a prominent member of the hierarchy of the defunct Awami League, was recently stabbed in Calcutta, according to reports reaching here from across the border.

These reports says that the Indians are not sparing even the Awami Leagues and are subjecting them to all sorts of humiliations, torture and affronts.

According to another report the organising secretary of Kustia Awami League, who crossed over to India misled by the Indian propaganda, was recently brutally murdered by the Marwaris in Calcutta.

Indian News Media asked to decry yahya's address

Foreign corespondents coming here from India have disclosed that Indian information media have received instructions to decry whatever the president says in his address to the nation next Monday reports APP.

Political observers here have expressed no surprise at the discloser which, they say, is in deeping with India's role not only in the present crisis but ever since the establishment of Pakistan. having never accepted the fact of Pakistan, she has been sparing no effort to undermine it.

Her designs were recently articulated by Mr. subramanayan, Director if the Indian Institute of Defence studies in his address to the Institute of International Affairs in Delhi when he said: "What India must realise is the fact that the break up of Pakistanis in our interest and an opportunity the like of which will never come again.' And an implementation of this, India sent infiltrators across the border into East Pakistan, armed and equipped the rebels and set up camps to train guerrilla fighters.

Foieled in her designs, the political observers add, India next seized on the "influs of refugees" stiulated by her own propaganda, infiltraors and colaborators, to get world sympathy and funds and have it cut off the flow of normal economic assistance to Pakistan. The demand was that the refugees be enabled to return home immediately.

British MPs visit Chittagong

The four member British parliamentary delegation now visiting East Pakistan yesterday morning flew into Chittagong , reports APP.

During their stay, the British MPs. west round the crouded part city and met prominent citizens and exchanged views with them. They returned to Dacca in the evening.

The British Parliamentary delegation, now on a study tour of the East Pakistan situation, on Friday and visited the reception centres set by the Government to received the Pakistani citizens who have crossed over to India during the disturbances. The members saw the adequate arrangements that have been made to provide food, medical aid and other necessary aid to the returning persons. They talked to many of the members of the returning families.

From Chuadanga they flew to Rajshahi and visited the reception centres.

The British MPs. met the heads of various faculties of the Rajshahi University and talked to them.

They later went round the city up to the point of river Padma, where the visiting parliamentarians were told about heavy shelling by Indian troops in that area.

Te delegation which was led by Mr. Arthur Bottomely, a former Labour Minister, also met the British nationals at the Chittagong club.
