New Delhi, May 26 (APP/UPI): Foreign Minister Swaran Singh declared Tuesday India would take whatever action it thinks proper if Pakistan refuses to restore conditions of peace and security in its eastern wing.
He made this declaration at the Rajya Sabha (Upper House of the Parliament) to wind up a four hour debate on the situation in East Pakistan.
Swaran Singh refused to disclose the nature of action, the Indian Govt. is contemplating to take. These things are not discussed in an open manner, he said.
Several opposition members demanded Indian intervention including military action.
Both the Houses of Parliament, the Lok Sabha (Lower House) and the Rajya Sabha, debated for four hours in the afternoon the situation in East Pakistan and the refugee problem it has created for India.
Islamabad, May 26 (APP): The European Economic Community has indicated its willingness to have direct negotiations with Pakistan next year, in connection with safeguarding of this country's trade interests in the event of British entry in the common market.
Official sources told APP that the offer also means that the negotiations between Pakistan and the EEC will be within the framework of the agreement, which Britain and the common market will have regarding the British membership of the community.
The indication was given by Mr. Ralf Dahrendorf, member of the EEC Commission who had talks with Pakistan Govt. officials on the impact British membership of the market will make on Pakistan's export trade.
The talks here concluded on Saturday.
Pakistan was also informed that Britain is expected to be given the EEC membership in July this year.
The Pakistan side was informed that it was not the policy of the EEC to enter into negotiations with third countries (like Pakistan) unless the major decision the British membership of the community is taken once this decision is reached, the EEC will consider, for about six months the impact of the new membership on the common market itself. This process will continue till around December 1971. Britain will become a full member of the community in early 1973.

Peshawar, May 26 (APP): Khan Abdul Qayyum Khan, president of the Pakistan Muslim League, has said that the secessionist movement of the defunct AL was an international conspiracy.
Addressing about half a dozen meeting, of party workers in Mardan district Monday and yesterday, Khan Qayyum said that in pursuance of their struggle for supremacy in Asia, these powers were receiving India tooth and nail to serve it as a bulwark against the People's Republic of China and wanted Pakistan to toe the same line.
Pakistan, he asserted, enjoyed best of relations with the People's Republic of China.

Khan Qayyum, however, ruled out the possibility of normalisation of relations between India and Pakistan unless the outstanding issues, including Kashmir and Farakka Barrage were resolved.
Turning to internal situation the PML chief stressed the need for a strong centre and said that if the centre was strong and the nation was united not only would the Kashmir and Farakka issues be resolved but also the Indian Muslims would be secured from the Hindu repression, he added.
Khan Qayyum pointed out that unabated support by India and dispatch of arms and ammunition in the garb of relief goods to East Pakistan by India were clear manifestation of the fact that the secessionist movement was an international conspiracy.
He paid tributes to the country's armed forces for their victory against India in what he termed "The Third War" with India by their courage and valour displayed in East Pakistan against Indian armed infiltrators.

He aslo thanked the People's Republic of China for its unstinted support to Pakistan wherever it was forced with crisis." Recent developments in East Pakistan have once again proved who was our sincere friends", he added.
He said that the people should learn a lesson from other countries who by sheer hard work and dedication had become one of the strongest world power. Why can't we become so if we cultivate these qualities, he added.
He emphasised that the PML stood for safeguarding the country's integrity.
Khan Qayyum urged president Yahya Khan to give a constitution, ensuring strong centre.
The president should also bring about changes in the country's administration as were necessary to safeguard the integrity and unity of the country.
Referring to the move for merger among different factions of the Muslim League Khan Qayyum said, "We have to proceed cautiously in this behalf and ensure that we do not take a false step."
He, therefore, urged his party men to desist from issuing press statements in this connection. Only the leaders would take on the matter, he added.
In his speeches, Mr. Mohammad Yusuf Khan Khattak, MNA, dealt with the independence movement, and said that Pakistan was created for the glory of Islam and not for promotion of regional and linguistic affiliations.
