RU Teachers refute Indian propaganda No damage to colleges and Universities

Eighty-three Rajshahi University teachers in a joint statement have refuted the "malicious and motivated" propaganda by interested circles in India and elsewhere about the damage to universities and colleges, says a press release issued by the Public Relation Officer of the University, reports APP.

They said: Feel constrained to refute the malicious and motivated propaganda being circulated by interested circles in India and elsewhere, which are hostile to Pakistan. There people have gone to the length of spreading the astounding life about the damage to universities and colleges. We would like to contradict these unfounded and fantastic stories in the strongest possible terms and to say emphatically that educational institution, including the university, are intact. Patriotic Pakistani teachers have received nothing but courteous and considerate treatment from the members of our defence forces. Campus at Rajsahi is calm and the teachers are leading normal lives.

We condemn in unequivocal terms the flagrant interference by India in the internal affairs of Pakistan. It is surprising that a country where innumerable anti-Muslim riots have been taking place unchecked should not pretend to be so concerned about the fate of the Muslims in East Pakistan. India not only supplied arms to the antistate elements but sent armed infiltrators into our country. The Indian agents and infiltrators mercilessly killed, in the most barbarous manner, tens of thousands of innocent Muslims and did not even spare women and children.

One of the main designs of the Indians was to wreck the economy of East Pakistan. This is proved by the indiscriminate looting of private and public property worth crores of rupees, removal of huge quantities of foodgrains across the border and dislocation of the communication system of the province.

The Rajshahi University teachers said: The Indians were hoping to annex East Pakistan, but fortunately, timely action by our gallant Armed forces has foiled this evil design. We should like to make it clear that there was no sanction behind the disintegrationists movement and that elections in December 1970 had been fought on issue of provincial autonomy which is quite a different proposition from the demand for outright independence raised by the extremist section of the Awami League.

The action of these extremists has come as a painful surprise to the majority of the East Pakistan people who are determined to preserve the integrity of their country and who are confident that they will be able to solve their problems, both political and economic without unwarranted advice from the so-called champions of the Muslims of East Pakistan in India.

30,000 E. Pakistani anti-state elements being trained

New Delhi, June 2 (PPl/DPA):

The Indian Army is training nearly 30,000 East Pakistan anti-state elements with the aim of sending them back to East Pakistan for creating trouble there.

Nearly 12 military training camps have been set up at various points around in Pakistan frontier for this purpose, while officially the Indian Government tries to hide the existence of the camps from the foreign correspondents and informed sources said that these people would be sent in the month of September.

The training camps are usually located near the refugee camps but at a safe distance so as not to be seen by foreign correspondents who are frequently taken by the Indian ;officials to the refugee camps. There is also no doubt in the minds of foreign correspondents visiting the refugee camps that the figure of three to four million refugees from East Pakistan give flout by the Indian Government is very much exaggerated.

'Indian propaganda can never separate two integrated wings'

The sooner India realise the better that Pakistan was and is one united and integrated country and no amount of propaganda can separate its two integrated wings, Mir. Ghulam Rasul, General secretary, Falah Anjuman-e-Muhajrin, Jammu and Kashmir, said here Tuesday, reports APP. In a statement he referred to India's threatenings and said that we were well prepared to defend our homeland against any outside threat to our sovereignty and freedom.

One behalf of the Anjuman he also offered whole-hearted support to the Martial law Authorities in maintaining peace in this wing. He said, "the other day Indian premier Mrs. Indira Gandhi said in the Indian Parliament that "India would not remain indifferent to happenings in East Pakistan. "The same day her Foreign Minister, Mr. Swaran Singh told the Parliament that if big powers did not interfere in the affairs of East Pakistan India would take effective action."

"These sorts of threatenings and warnings, in their opinion, meant to bring Pakistan to a settlement suitable to their evil designs. Perhaps the Indian leadership have forgotten that East Pakistan is a living part of and within Pakistan and no country how mighty or great it may be has anything to do with our internal affairs."

It is an open fact that India is an avowed enemy of Pakistan and as such she has always been aiming at destroying it. Gandhi had repeatedly announced that he could not see her mother (mother-India) being cut into twin. The Late Mr. Nehru in course of a conversation with Leonard Mosley in 1960 had stated "we expected that partition would be temporary, that Pakistan was bound to come back to us."

SEEDS OF DISCORD

This kind of thinking encouraged Indian Gandhi first to sow seeds of discord between the two wings of Pakistan through her paid agents and then to supply arms and ammunitions to the extremist group of the defunct Awami League.

Now it is clear tat what happened in East Pakistan was not merely the work of the defunct Awami league. The Government of Indira Gandhi was played a prominent role throughout the secessionist movement here and the conspiracy was hatched in New Delhi and the traitors were assured of all material help which they needed to create chaos in the Eastern wing of Pakistan.

To strengthen the secessionist movement here India sent her agents who influenced the student community and later started hooliganism, murder, arson, loot and other similar acts.

These evidences are enough to prove that India wanted to fish in the troubled water but she miserably failed in misleading the general masses of East Pakistan. To defame Pakistan in the eyes of the Muslim world, India's Minister move was also met with disappointment in the Middle East countries who have love and affection for Pakistan refused to hear from Mr. Jay Prakash Narayan's mischievous propaganda against Pakistan.

Now India stands naked before the world and her own newspapers are everyday accusing here for making false claim and propaganda in favour of the so-called "Bangladesh." The sooner India realises the better that Pakistan was and is one united and integrated country and no amount of propaganda can separate its two integrated wings.

Witch-hunt of Muslims in India

Islamabad, June 2 (APP):

The India Government have started witch-hunt of the Muslims while waxing eloquence in sympathy of Muslims of East Pakistan.

According to All Indian Radio, the Minister of State for Home Affairs, Mr. Ram Niwas Nirdha told Indian Parliament Monday that enquiries were being made by the West Bengal Government and Central Agencies into the activities of a Pakistan spy ring operating in West Bengal. He alleged that some former Ministers of West Bengal and a member of Indian Parliament from West-Bengal were involved in the spy - ring. He declined to give information about the activities of spy-ring and said any disclosure at this stage would hamper the investigations.

Meanwhile, it has been announced in Gauhati, the capital of Assam, that corporal M.H. Zaffri, a Muslim; of the Indian Air Force had been arrested on charges of spying for Pakistan.

In his address, Mr. Yusuf said that the outlawed Awami Leagues fascist activities, including murder, loot, and destruction of public property were intended to weaken Pakistan.
