No person would be entitled to demand or receive from the State Bank or the Central Government the value of any currency notes bearing such marking in any language.

The person surrendering such notes will get the amount of equivalent value if the committee decided that these were not illegally acquired or such person had not evaded tax.
Currency Looted
A press note issued by the Ministry of Finance in Islamabad today said: A large amount of currency notes have been looted from treasuries and banks in East Pakistan by the infiltrators and miscreants and taken away to India. The design of our enemies is clearly to use the looted currency for financing subversion and smuggling of goods from Pakistan. A part of the currency is also being dumped in the international markets eroding the value of Pakistan rupee. Moreover, the looted currency may ultimately find its way into the economy thereby increasing inflationary pressures.
In order to deal effectively with this problem Government have decided to demonetise
currency notes of the denomination of rupees five hundred and rupees one hundred.

7th June, 1971 and nobody should accept them in any transaction. All holders of these
notes including Government department should deposit them with the nearest branch
of any commercial bank, Government Treasury, Deputy Commissioner, Sub-
Rupees five hundred notes may be tendered only on two days, namely, Tuesday and Wednesday, the 8th and 9th June, 1971 from 9a.m. to 9 p.m. Rupees one hundred notes may be deposited on three days. Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, the 8th, 9th and 10th June, 1971 from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m.
While depositing the notes, the holders should give the following information in writing:
(A) Name
(B) Father's name
(C) Full address
(D) Denomination-
The public is advised to get a proper receipt from the bank or other authorities concerned at the time of depositing the notes. They should keep this receipt in their safe custody to enable them to claim other currency notes in full exchange of the demonetised notes.
The Government realise that the measure they have taken may cause some inconvenience to the members of the public, but have no doubt that they would understand that this step has been taken by Government in the larger national interest.

Rawalpindi, June 7 (APP): Following is the text of the Martial Law regulation No. 81 issued by the Chief Martial Law Administrator here yesterday.
Where as large quantity of Pakistan currency notes have been illegally removed from the Government treasuries, branches of the State Bank of Pakistan, and whereas such currency notes are likely to be used for activities prejudicial to the national economy and security of Pakistan. Chief Martial Law Administrator is pleased to make and promulgate the following Martial Law Regulation.
1 . This regulation shall come into force at once and shall take effect notwithstanding any thing inconsistent there with in any other law for the time being in force.
2. All Pakistan currency notes of the following description shall cease to be legal tender within the meaning of Section 25 of the State Bank of Pakistan Act 1956 (XXXIII of 1956) on and from the dates mentioned against each.
(A) Pakistan currency notes inscribed or date of marked with or having impressed
or commencement embossed there-
(b) Pakistan currency notes of 500 Rs. 8th June 1971 and 100 rupees denominations.
All holders of the currency notes specified in sub-
(B) of paragraph-
(A) Pakistan currency notes of 500-
(B) Pakistan currency notes of 100 rupees denomination 8th, 9th and 10th June 1971, Whereafter these Currency notes shall not be accepted.
4. The Banks or their branches, the treasuries or the officers mentioned in paragraph 3 to whom the currency notes are surrendered shall note down the name and address of the person surrendering them and the numbers and value of such currency notes and shall give a receipt duly signed and stamped to the person surrendering them.
5. (I) The Central Government shall set up such committees as it may deem tit_ and

A person who has surrendered any currency notes under paragraph 3 shall on production of the receipt issued to him under paragraph 4 be entitled to receive, on such dates as may be notified by the State Bank of Pakistan in the official gazette the amount equivalent to the value of the currency notes so surrendered by him from such bank as may be mentioned in the notification, if (A) the currency notes surrendered by him have not be found by the committee to have been illegally acquired or illegally removed from any of the branches of the State Bank of Pakistan or from any office or branch of any other bank or from any government treasury, and (B) such person has been found by the committee not to have evaded any tax payable to the government.
