Lieutenant General Tikka Khan, Governor, East Pakistan and Martial Law administrator, Zone 'B' yesterday visited Chauadanga, Nator and Rajshahi, says as ISPR press release.

The Governor during his day's visit, met the local civil and military officials and members of peace committees. He discussed with them the law and order situation, position of food stocks, restoration of means of communication and rehabilitation of people's confidence.
He was told that the entire Rajshahi Division had been cleared of trouble makers and the people had returned to their homes. The food stocks were adequate, shops open, government offices functioning and essential normally operating.
Good work appreciated
Talking to the members of peace committees at various places, he expressed his appreciation of good work done by them in maintenance of peaceful conditions and rehabilitation of people's confidence. He advised them to form the authorities about the presence of miscreants so that law enforcing agencies could deal with them appropriately.
The people everywhere greeted the Governor enthusiastically and raised patriotic

At Chuadanga, the Governor also visited the reception centre and found it fully equipped
with necessary facilities to receive the returnees. He insected the accommodation
and medical facilities. He also met some of the returnees and talked to them informally.

Full Medical Cover
On enquiry from the Governor, the Medical Officer of the camp said that full medical cover was provided to all the returnees and there was no case of serious sickness and or epidemic. He added that few returnees, who arrived at the camp some time back, were suspected of Cholera but they were immediately protected.

Mr. Zulfikar Ali Bhutto chairman of the Pakistan People's Party today reiterated his demand for the transfer of power to the people's representatives to tide over the present crisis facing the country.
Addressing a press conference at his residence here this evening, Mr. Bhutto said Pakistan who facing the worst crisis in her history, "It requires a political approach to overcome it specially in view of the people's support my party is capable surmounting the present problems, Mr. Bhutto said, "The situation is fluid, I don't think that country has faced a more serious crisis than the present one. I don't think any other country has faced such a crisis."
The peoples party chief said, "It requires popular leadership and genuine political approach."
He, said "The people of Pakistan have earned their right to rule themselves."
Good Advice
Mr. Bhutto recalled president Yahya Khan's advice to Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, leader of the now defunct Awami League to either form a Government of his own or form a coalition with the minority group of West Pakistan or to enter into grand coalition with the Pakistan people's party.
"That is a good advice, I hope he (President Yahya Khan) remembers it for the future, "Mr. Bhutto added.
Mr. Bhutto said that his party was a national political party. "It is an embodiment of the movement of Pakistan. It has roots everywhere in the country. InshaAllah let us see how events unfold in the country in the coming months, he added.
The PPP chairman said that the nation and particularly the people of West Pakistan had reposed confidence in his leadership "I will never fail them in future. We stand committed to our pledged to the people. The people will win their rights."
No Hasty Comments
Asked if he would like to comment on president Yahya's broadcast in which he spelled out his plan for the transfer of power Mr. Bhutto said, "I do not want to make any hasty comments."
He said, "I will certainly take everything into account." Mr. Bhutto said that he was in consultation with leaders of his party on president Yahya's broadcast and this will be the main issue at the Central Committee meeting of the people's party scheduled to be held in Rawalpindi on July 15.
Replying to a question about the reported split in his party Mr. Bhutto said , "You will see. I don't think there is any split in my party," he said. I one or two members have quit the party it was no split.
He said recent visits to the Punjab by his party leaders were "overwhelmingly successful." He said his own recent visit to Baluchistan was productive. "Time will tell you. In a few months you will see if there has been any split in the PPP,' Mr. Bhutto said.
The peoples party chairman recalled that his movement against the former president Ayub Khan came when he had no political party or any members of the Assembly. We embarked at that time like a voice in the wilderness," he said. Adding that his dialogue was with the masses of Pakistan. "I can reach them any time."
But he said that it was the general situation in the subcontinent that bothered him. He said that at the moment he was faced with a similar dilemma as at the time of the Tashkent Declaration in view of the Indian threats, political responsibility should he transferred to the people's representatives, he added.

A Jordan Air Lines (Ali a) aeroplane will arrive here tomorrow with about ten tons of medicines and other relief goods for East Pakistan.
The relief goods have been collected by the Pakistan Jordan Friendship Association. Mr. Khalid Abu Hasan and Mr. Akram Abu Zaid, President and members of the association respectively are coming personally with the relief goods to present them to the Government of Pakistan on behalf of the people of Jordan.

Mr. Mahmudul Haq Usmani, General Secretary, National Awami Party (NA Wali Khan Group) has said here at the meeting of the National council of NAP will be held in Dacca some time next month to discuss the resignation of the party's chief Khan Abdul Wali Khan.
Talking to PPI here today Mr. Usmani said the meeting will also discuss the latest political situation in the country. He added that the meeting of council was also necessary after the broadcast of president Yahya Khan.
Replying to a question Mr. Usmani said that the date had not yet been fixed. However, said that as soon as conditions return to normal in East Pakistan, the meeting would be immediately convened. "The situation in East wing will return to normalcy within a month or two, the meeting will then take place," he added.
He said that he would he leaving for East Pakistan shortly to see the situation there and then fix a date for the meeting after consulting members of the council from East wing.
In reply to a question Mr. Usmani said according to the constitution of the party the meeting of the council was to be held in East wing. Mr. Usmani further said that on his return from East Pakistan he would visit Punjab and NWFP to meet his party leaders and workers.

Mr. Bashir said that he had previously no knowledge of any secret pact between Awami League and India in utter disregard of the basic principles of the creation of the Muslims.
He said that from the recent events it was evident that India was trying her best to separate East Pakistan from the West Pakistan so as to fulfill their evil desire.
Mr. Bashir said that he now fully realised these designs and strongly condemned the nefarious activities, which posed a threat to the existence of Pakistan.
All her actions lead to the conclusion that India is back on escalating a situation which is already highly dangerous. Violation of Pakistani territory by Indians continues unabated despite the strong protests that have been lodged by Pakistan. Indian intrusions and firing into Pakistani territory have become a regular feature. Indian Air Force aircraft intruded six miles into Pakistan air space and straffed and machine gunned Amarkhana in Dinajpur district on Saturday. This was followed up heavy shelling of Amarkhana by 120 mm mortars from the Indian side.
Unprovoked attack on Pakistan by Indian aircraft is a most serious concern. The situation, as we have repeatedly said, is explosive. Anything can provide the spark for a conflagration that might not be limited. It is dangerous to play with fire, but that is exactly what India is doing. One should have thought that India had learnt her lesson after the war of September 1965, when she achieved her sinister ends by treachery and surprise. But apparently she has not.
And she is now being egged on by Western news media many of whom are not only highly partisan but terribly vicious. Not that India needs much encouragement. But what are many of these Western news papers and other news media up to? It should be clear even to the meanest intelligence that they are not interested in solving problems but in furthering their own ends by aggravating problems. No one who is actuated by humanitarian considerations would contribute to the mounting tension and suggest war. War, as president Yahya Khan has tressed one or more than once, solves nothing. But this should not be taken to mean that Pakistan will put up with violations of her territory. This is a sign of confidence and strength Pakistan has shown commendable patience in spite of provocations. But if war is forced on Pakistan, India will get a fitting reply. Pakistan is an ideological state, a homeland that was wrested from the British and the Hindus. Pakistan will consider no sacrifice too great for safeguarding and preserving the integrity of the homeland won after such tremendous sacrifices. India and her friends are reckoning without the Pakistani spirit, which instead of being daunted by odds accepts them as challenge.

The Speakers of the meeting, while appreciating the timely action of the armed forces, appealed to the audience for giving wholehearted support to the present regime. They also thanked the president for his timely address to the nation. Mr. Afbuddin of Sunamganj, a leader of now defunct Awami League renounced his connection with the defunct Awami League and made a fervent appeal to the keep away from ghost elements who were responsible for the present crisis in the country.
A two member German parliamentary delegation arrived in Dacca yesterday, reports APP.
